What’s the most effective method to process credit cards manually?
Seth C asked:
Does anyone out there have any knowledge or experience with manually processing credit cards? We needs sales people out in the field to take down credit card info and then enter them for processing when they get back home or into the office. Currently we’d like to avoid wireless PDA modules due to the cost involved. Anyone got any recommendations.

Use an online billing gateway company. i work for a very good one, but i can’t tell u the name sorry. try googling ‘high risk merchant accounts’
you would be able to later input the credit info into the system back at your office and process it as a MOTO transaction
I used to use a merchant account via Quickbooks. You can send invoices via e-mail where people can pay online (if you sign up for the Billing Solutions package) or you can manually enter in the card numbers. It is low cost, too. Check it out online:
Simple Payment Systems gives you the software free and trains you and your employees for free. Just pick out the software that is best for you. Some have a shopping cart also. They also give you wireless terminals and for free.
There is a solution via an interent connection and password protected website. Many companies call it Virtual Terminal. This solution has the ability to provide different passwords for each user. This is important if you need to track sales or some type of #s.
There is a company that offers them at no cost with a merchant agreement:
Good Luck!
